Principal’s Message
Dear Mary Tsukamoto Elementary Students and Families,
As I reflect on the past few years as principal of Mary Tsukamoto Elementary, I am filled with gratitude and pride. It has been a true honor to be part of such an incredible community—one where students, families, and staff come together each day to support learning, growth, and one another.
At Mary Tsukamoto, we remain committed to helping students build their academic skills while also nurturing empathy, compassion, and confidence. We hold the strong belief that all students can achieve at high levels when provided with excellent instruction and the right supports. With incredibly talented colleagues, supportive families, and a strong community, we work together to ensure that our school is a place where ALL students feel welcome and safe to be themselves, to take risks, and to make mistakes.
In addition to our focus on social-emotional learning, high-quality instruction, and positive behavior, we are proud to offer a variety of enrichment opportunities for students. These include athletics, cheer, band, music classes for grades K–6, choir, and student leadership. This year, we’re excited to introduce a new after-school creative writing class, giving students another outlet for self-expression and creativity.
We are deeply thankful for the ongoing support of our families. Your involvement and partnership play a vital role in our success, and I look forward to continuing our work together in the months and years to come.
It’s going to be another great year at Tsukamoto!
Warmly,
Principal Sangalang
